Mental Health Student Intern

I have always been an extravert with a huge heart for people around me. The last 15 years of my life I have been in the restaurant industry, working many years as a Front of the House Manager. I have learned to relate with and enjoy all different types of people, from different walks of life.

I was born and raised in Orlando, FL and obtained my Bachelor’s in Psychology at Appalachian State University (ASU) in 2018. I grew up with two sisters and was active in sports, non-profit organizations in my community, and church. Through these activities, I learned from a young age the value of collaborative efforts, adaptability in different environments, and connecting with others.

I married a Navy submariner, and our family endured many deployments while raising young children. We have a blended family with three young children. Our oldest I raised as a single mom for a few years, our second we adopted, and our third is biological. I can especially relate to the difficulties that young women, single mothers, blended families and military families endure.

I am a highly relational person and have a passion for knowing others. As a child, I was actively involved in team sports, Sunday school, and miscellaneous social activities. From an early age, I learned that my brain is naturally inquisitive, and I am skilled at connecting with others, regardless of the environment.
