Jessica Gilstrap, LMHC

Licensed Mental Health Counselor #7186
RTM (Reconciliation of Traumatic Memories) Certified Therapist
A.R.T. Certified Therapist
Qualified Supervisor for the State of Florida

Jessica has a passion for working with children, adolescents and families who have “lost their way.” With over 25 years of counseling experience, she specializes in helping people move towards restoration, healing and hope in all aspects of life.  As she has grown and gained much more experience in her career, she has worked  with more children and teenagers that have been caught in the middle of high conflict between their parents.  She works closely with many attorneys, GALS (guardian ad Litem), and other therapists and social workers for her clients.  It is her passion to see parents stop fighting and learn to love their children more than they dislike or even "hate" their "ex".  It can be done, it is a process, sometimes a long process, but it can be done!

If you live in Florida, there's only a little more than a one-in-three chance you were born in this state. In fact, Florida has the second-lowest rate of population made up by native-born residents of this state in the entire nation. Jessica is happens to be one of those people.

As a life-long resident of Orlando who grew up attending First Baptist Church of Orlando, she loves this city and the people living in it. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University and a master’s degree in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary.

A couple of Jessica’s area of speciality are children, teenagers, and their families. High conflict divorce cases involving children. She helps families come to a resolution that is in the best interest of the children. She is recognized as an Expert Witness by the State of Florida by just about all the surrounding Judicial Circuit Courts.

In her free time, she enjoys just about anything outdoors, especially if it involves being on the water. She’s an avid salt water angler and primarily fishes on the west coast of Florida.
